Can This Ad Be Really Defined As 'Art' ?

As some of us may know, Fashion designer Dolce & Gabbana is known for its attractive and ‘naughty’ ads. Nevertheless, this ad grabbed my attention more than any other ad for this fashion designer. This ad was somewhat disturbing. Without the logo ‘Dolce & Gabbana’ there is a male pinning a woman down, while four other men are staring at them and they seem to be waiting for their “turn”. Adding to that, the arrangement of the models or the ‘work of art’ that’s in this picture has nothing to do with the products Dolce & Gabbana has to offer! Does an image that looks like a possible gang rape really fit to be an ad? Are people really attracted to such ads? What do you think of such an ad, is it interesting in some way, is it sexy or is it disturbing and offensive to women?

  1. In my opinion this ad is very offensive in many ways. The sexuality displayed in this ad is not necessary for young people to see and could be a negative influence that deprive their moral standards. Hollywood sets trends that damaged people's perspectives on morality.
The text alone "Dolce & Gabbana" can literally be posted in front of any image, thus making that image always valuable.
